TO GO WITH AFP STORY: Somaliland warns will not take in foreign-seized pirates By Otto Bakano A Somali prison warder at his station on March 29, 2011 at the main gate of the UN-funded prison in the capital Hargeisa of Somalia's self-declared state of Somaliland.Somaliland said that the new UN-funded prison in Hargeisa is not yet accepting pirates arrested or detained by foreign powers. The objection to accepting transfers is likely to prove the latest setback to attempts by the international community to repatriate Somali pirates arrested on the high seas to east Africa or the Horn of Africa for trial.Of the 297 detainees currently in the facility, 88 are pirates from various regions of Somalia.
